Meyrick Simmonds increased his lead to 10 points when he won the February Mixed Foil League after five of the seven competitions were completed. His overall score now stands at 499. In the top league this February Meyrick Simmonds came first but not without suffering one of his rare defeats. Rupert Sewards distinguished his first appearance in the top league by beating Simmonds by a convincing 5-2. All the next four places were very close. Kees Zandvliet got the coveted second place a whisker of one hit ahead of Rupert Seward in third place both with three wins. 4th was Clair Le Poidevin preserving her top league spot. Jonathan Brehaut was fifth 3 hits behind Clair & Ross Martel with one win was in sixth place. Brehaut & Martel thus suffer relegation.

Division two had a very strong cast. Alan Bushby a former champion came first winning all his fights with only four hits against him. Martin Corbet was second with three wins & he & Bushby will fight in the top spot in March. Daniel Nield who won three fights including the scalp of Martin Corbet by 5-3 took the third place. Fourth was Adam Bonner with 2 wins edging out Hollie Redhead by a single hit to fifth place & relegation along with Owen Morgan.

Geoffrey Sloane was the easy winner of division three with 5 straight wins. Julie Dyer is second and promoted with him. Mark Childs & Sam Parish retain their places, with Chris Collier and Mita Rahman being demoted.

The clergy dominated a seven-fencer pool four. Rob Harnish & Robert Muir came first & second well ahead of the rest. Evidently their prayers were answered, and they will be rewarded with an elevation to a higher place next month, namely Division Three. Sue Martel, Wendy Batiste & Adam Crittel preserved their places with Linda Jones & Marcel de Garis dropping a division next month.

Pool five was close with Heidi Sheppard & Glen Ashworth tying on four wins each. They are both promoted with Heidi two hits ahead of Glen. Staying in the division are Gail Childs & Elaine Ellington with Jenny Harding & Chris Mahy suffering demotion.
