The Gun Site

Following the recovery by Guernsey Armouries of a 22cm K532(f) barrel from Jersey in 1995, this position was selected to be restored as an example of a German heavy coastal artillery batterie.  After removing 1,000 tons of backfill from the site, a chassis and mount were fabricated using copies of the original blueprints obtained from the French Ministry of Defence (namely the Centre d’Archives de l’Armament in Chatellerault.)

The gun was positioned in the restored emplacement in June 2001.
